Can I upgrade my verizon phone early?

i had the same problem. i wanted to switch my cheep phone for the i phone 4. when i called verizon they told me that in order to that i could pay the 600 dollars. yeah i dont think so! so you have to wait till your contracts up and you get it for 199 with another 2 year contract.
