Why do religious people think the default is that their god is real and the burden of proof is on atheists?

Do leprechaunists think the default is that leprechauns are real and aleprechaunists have to prove leprechauns don’t exist? Do Scientologists think Tom Cruise is perfectly sane and non-Scientologists have to prove he’s insane? Do Mormons think their underpants are magic and non-Mormons have to prove their underpants are not magic? You see the point I’m making here? People believe in all sorts of wacky stuff; they are only limited by their imagination. Can you see how absurd it is to demand rational people have the burden of proof and they have to prove the delusions of religious crazies are bogus?
